We know that when planning family vacations, there are many things to consider, especially when traveling with children. At Prinsotel, we want you to enjoy a family experience, so we have compiled a list of 5 paradisiacal beaches in Mallorca, taking into account the needs of the little ones at home. Considerations include:

  • Easy parking
  • Convenient access for strollers
  • Sandy beach
  • Monitored with a lifeguard or rescue station
  • Services such as sunbeds and umbrellas
  • Shaded areas
  • Shallow shoreline
  • Nearby bars or beach bars for refreshments
  • Restrooms
  • Freshwater showers

Cala Gran, Cala d’Or (Santanyí):
It is a beach of sand and rocks, surrounded by pine vegetation that provides shaded areas to relax during the hot summer afternoons while listening to the gentle lapping of the water on the shore. Cala Gran holds the Blue Flag, an annual award granted to beaches meeting criteria for water quality, environmental standards, safety, and services. Prinsotel Alba Hotel & Apartments are located just 100 meters from this paradisiacal beach.

Son Moll (Cala Ratjada):
A fine sandy beach, awarded the Blue Flag, Son Moll bathes the northeast of the island of Mallorca, located in Cala Ratjada. It is an ideal beach due to its fine sand and the gastronomic variety of the area, where restaurants also offer children's menus. Parking in the area is free, and a good alternative is public transportation, with the bus stop just 50 meters from the beach. If you are staying at Prinsotel La Pineda Hotel & Apartments, we recommend its beautiful and lengthy promenade along the entire beach.

Playa de Muro (Muro):
Undoubtedly the ultimate family beach, located in the north of the island, Playa de Muro boasts over 5 km of fine sand and turquoise blue water, earning the Blue Flag rating. This beach is divided into 3 areas. The area closest to the Alcúdia region (west) has more services such as sunbeds, umbrellas, bathrooms, restaurants, lifeguard services, and disabled access.

The intermediate area of Playa de Muro, where Prinsotel La Dorada Hotels & Apartments are located, also known as Es Branc, is quieter than the previous one, with the pier s’Oberta.

The eastern area, the most pristine and natural part of Playa de Muro, known as Es Comu, is less accessible and does not fully meet the requirements to be a family-friendly beach/area. Nevertheless, its breathtaking landscapes, fauna, vegetation, transparent waters, etc., make visiting Playa de Muro worthwhile. It is noteworthy that this area belongs to the Natural Park of s’Albufera, considered a Natural Area of Special Interest.

Playa de Alcúdia (Puerto de Alcúdia):
Continuing from Playa de Muro to the west, Playa de Alcúdia is also a fine sandy beach with very little slope, making it an ideal beach for children to play safely on the shore. Prinsotel Mal Pas Hotel is closer to Playa de Alcúdia, just a 5-minute drive away.

Playa del Dolç (Colonia de Sant Jordi):
Playa del Dolç is characterized by its family-friendly atmosphere, with parking available if you have a rental car. The town of Colonia de Sant Jordi is only 300 meters from the beach, easily accessible through the promenade connecting the beach to the urban center. This sandy beach is highly acclaimed by families; its fine sand and transparent waters make it a place for parents and children to enjoy together. Additionally, it offers privileged views of the island of Cabrera, declared a National Park.

Enjoying a paradisiacal beach with your family is priceless, as it will surely become one of your favorite vacation memories.
