This summer take a trip around Minorca
Yes there is a way to take a trip around Minorca by using the Cami de Cavalls,
(Horse Trail), a traditional track that covers the whole island following the coastline and used originally by the ancient inhabitants, many of them on horseback. That is the reason for the name.

This track is classified as a long distance footpath (GR-223) for lovers of hiking but it is much more than just a footpath. The Minorcans consider it to be an important part of their identity and even though, only recently, it was opened completely to the public, it has always been one if the residents' most loved routes.

In total the trail covers 185 kms and takes you along the whole Minorcan coastline, passing by completely natural virgin areas and other urbanized areas with more tourism.
To follow the whole route is it advisable to divide it into stages, which can be found properly signposted throughout the trail. It is of medium difficulty and normally one starts from Mahon to Es Grau and finishes with the stretch which joins the bay of Sant Esteve with the city of Mahon.
