Festivals and concerts in Majorca: an entire island to enjoy music

Summer does not finish in September. We will never tire of repeating this: Majorca is a place to enjoy all year round and this month is one of the most lively. Away from the heat of August, the agreeable temperature of this season prior to autumn, makes it the best time for open air celebrations, festivals, concerts and all types of musical events.

Majorca is an island of music, home to a number of well known national groups and where in every village there is a local fair, a live concert, or a festival. This month for example in Palma, at Son Fusteret takes place the Solar Fest, which starts with Solar Nins, with musical activities for “indie children” at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Es Baluard. The highlight is on 12th and 13th September with the Vaccines as leading group.

Not only does the island live for indie music. September is also the month of the grape harvest and in Binissalem they organise one of the biggest fiestas of the year in Majorca: Es Vermar. Grapes, countryside, wine tasting and music in the streets to celebrate the new harvest.

There are also new shows at the Auditorium in Palma and Lloseta Theatre: Alcudia and Pollensa also fill their diaries with gastronomic fairs and special musical events and in the south, the beach bar at Es Trenc, S'Embat, is organising the last live concerts of the season and also the Nit del Art which brings to the table what will be the artistic scene for 2015-2016 in Majorca.
