Better in winter

What is Better in Winter?

The last promotional campaign of the Balearic Islands is called Better in Winter and was created with the aim of showing the world that the Islands are a perfect destination throughout the year and that, in fact, there are activities that can be enjoyed even more in the winter months. At Prinsotel we are more than aware of the wonders that Mallorca and Menorca offer during the cold winter months, that is why our hotels will open in February 2018 step by step.

The Balearic Tourism Agency presented a new short film of tourism promotion this year in Barcelona, aims to promote the most attractive elements of the islands during the months that are outside of what is considered the peak summer season (July and August): gastronomy, nature and sport, traditions and popular festivals, culture, music, art… elements that are also present during the summer but that become overshadowed by the incredible beaches and coves.

At Prinsotel we have always said it: certain places or activities on Mallorca or Menorca, can be better enjoyed during other seasons except for summer. For example, a golf break or a cycling trip with friends in Mallorca is much better to plan in February, March or April, as the weather is much more favourable. The same happens with visits to museums and galleries, when the best time to visit is between September and October.

In the case of gastronomy, Mallorca and Menorca are a delight for the palate all year round, but in winter there are traditional dishes that can not be enjoyed in the heat of summer: ‘arròs brut’, snails, artichokes, mallorcan soup, ‘the frit de matanzas’ or ‘bullit’.

We are going to take only a brief break to prepare ourselves before our hotels and apartments on Mallorca and Menorca return in February. During that month will be the opening of Prinsotel La Dorada, the jewel in the crown of accommodation in Playa de Muro. In March, it will be the turn of Prinsotel Alba, in Cala d'Or, and Prinsotel Mal Pas, in Alcudia; and in April the Prinsotel La Pineda, in Cala Ratjada will open again, and, in Menorca, the Prinsotel La Caleta.

Take advantage now and book with all the advantages and come to discover why we say that the Balearics are better in winter.
