Autumn trails in the Tramuntana

08.11.2017

Autumn arrives and along with it the perfect climate to discover the Serra de Tramuntana. This great jewel and natural paradise that occupies the north-west of Mallorca is one of the most amazing places of the planet in terms of fauna, flora and marine life, in fact it has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

But titles and medals aside, the reality is that the Serra de Tramuntana is a destination in itself within Mallorca and many of those who visit us in these autumn months know this well: cycling routes, secret coves, cliffs with small paths that almost touch the sea, ravines or steep slopes to climb. The Mallorcan mountains are a world of opportunities to enjoy sport and outdoor adventure.

We speak of autumn specifically because it is now when the sun stops being so oppressive which means we can organise plans of all day in the wild. Something unthinkable in the middle of July or August. So if you are one of those who have booked the days off for October you are in luck: it is your time to discover the secrets of our mountains.

If you are not an expert but you want to consider an active holiday, don't worry because the trail network of the Serra de Tramuntana has routes of all kinds and various levels, some so simple that they are suitable for children. All are perfectly signposted and offer alternatives for those who want something more or less complicated. You adjust your challenges to your environment.

Also, there are several mobile applications and official websites where you can find all the necessary and up to date information, in order to take full advantage of the routes offered by this area of the island: rest areas, unevenness on routes and alternative roads, meteorology, location of public shelters, places to have a picnic or restaurants to eat and even workshops for repairing bicycles, if you prefer the cycling tourism.

In our hotels in Mallorca we have also thought of our guests more like sportsmen and our rooms as well as our common facilities and our catering service are adapted to all your needs. Just ask us and we will tell you what we have at your disposal according to the type of sport or the travel plan that you have designed. For example, in our Prinsotel La Dorada hotel in Playa de Muro you will have a gym and a cycling centre to enjoy the north of Mallorca.
