5 places to visit during your holiday in Majorca

Majorca is an island that you can return to whenever you want, where you will always find something new and different to enjoy. For that reason at Prinsotel we have selected 5 essential places to visit if you are travelling to Majorca this summer.

Palma

One of these places is surely Majorca's Cathedral - La Seu, as it is called by the Majorcans - that offers such an impressive spectacle that it is well worth devoting a morning to discovering the interior and also the narrow streets of the old part of Palma, the Parc de la Mar (Sea Park), the Almudaina Palace all with the Mediterranean in the background. Hidden away inside the cathedral you will find one of the works of the artist Miguel Barcelo and also a museum of religious art.

The town of Valldemossa with the beautiful Carthusian monastery where Chopin played is one of the obligatory visits while in Majorca. This is also the beginning of the Serra de Tramuntana, a natural area which has been declared World Heritage by UNESCO.

Valldemossa

The Es Trenc beach or the last paradise according to some people. It is one of the most famous beaches in Majorca and one of the few which is still practically virgin. Distinguishable for the crystal clear blue water and the fine white sand.

Es Trenc

Cala Ratjada and the Carmen celebrations: it is one of the most charming fishing villages in Majorca. Although it is one of the important touristic centres on the island, it combines beautiful natural areas, bays where you can enjoy the Mediterranean and animated night life, all together in the north-eastern part of Majorca.

Cala Agulla.Cala Ratjada

The walled village of Alcudia is another of the places you must visit during your stay.

Alcudia

It represents one of the few villages on the island, outside Palma, with the most monumental and cultural heritage. It has a large area of archeological remains dating from Roman times and inside the walls there is one of the island's most eye catching markets.
