Inca Jazz Festival 2011
10/07/2011

Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana used to say that while “rock is a swimming pool, jazz is a whole ocean”. A phrase that invites you to discover a unique musical language. Jazz lets you experience passion, craziness and pleasure.
There's
not just one type of jazz. The most well-known varieties of jazz are
work song, New Orleans, Chicago and bebop, although nowadays jazz has
fused its style with other ways of creating music, such as flamenco,
funk, new age, electronic and others.
If
you like jazz or you fancy a taste of it during your holiday in
Mallorca, there's a great opportunity that you can't miss this month
(July).
Inca Jazz Festival 2011
gathers together musicians from across the island for exciting jazz
concerts this summer. All of the concerts are held in the cloister of
the Convento de Santo Domingo (Santo Domingo Convent), a wonderful space that guarantees a very, very special atmosphere.
The organisation has confirmed the following concerts:
- Sunday 17 July: Celia Mur accompanied by a trio
- Sunday 24 July: Emmat Orquestra with Andreu Galmés
They all begin at 9pm and entrance is also free. As well as music, Inca Jazz Festival 2011 will serve wines and tapas with the aim of making each event a curious marriage of music, gastronomy and oenology.
Prinsotel Hotels will also enjoy jazz with you. In the Prinsotel La Dorada in Playa de Muro and the Prinsotel Mal Pas in Alcudia, we will help you get to these events.
